Fill out the form, they said. Customize it, they said. There’s so many options, they said.
Josten’s gives juniors the chance to personalize their class ring, but are they beloved by all?
“I am personally not interested,” junior Aristen Tanner said.
No matter how well they are presented, a person’s opinion won’t promise to change.
“I immediately knew this wasn’t something I was gonna get,” Tanner said.
Class rings signify a student’s accomplishments throughout their high school life.
“It’s really exciting to see what people come up with,” Tanner said. “And what backstorties people could develop to their rings.”
When looking at the form, Jostens provides a multitude of options to choose from.
“I think I would’ve picked a mainly simplistic design…” Tanner said. “I think silver is a really nice color, and the jewel in the ring itself would’ve been a very muted color.”
Class rings can hold memories for students and show off who they are, so why not get them?
“I’m not a materialistic person and jewelry isn’t my style,” Tanner said.
It could be more about the money. Should they, or should they not pay for these rings?
Tanner said, “I certainly wouldn’t recommend putting your money towards a class ring.”

“If I did get one, I’d honestly just wear it once or twice before graduation and then shove it in the closet,” Tanner said. “I personally would feel strange wearing it dozens of years after I graduate.”
At the end of the day, views, opinions, feelings, and experiences play into purchasing a ring or not.
“When I wake up in twenty years,” Tanner said. “I don’t think I’ll lose any sleep by remembering I never took the chance to get my class ring.”
