Whenever people are given something they usually take it, but the Rotary Club goes a step farther. They give back even if they weren’t given anything and they enjoy it at the same time.

“I enjoyed going out there, cleaning up, and helping other people,” Lois Harris said.

It’s more than just serving the public.

“I helped do something that will make someone else feel good,” Harris said.

It’s also about making a difference on your fellow community members.

“It’s about making a positive influence through giving and serving your community by just doing everything you can to make a positive influence,” senior Adam Koehl said.

They get the satisfaction of helping other people and bringing them up. The members also enjoy making a difference in their neighborhood.

“The fact that we actually made a difference was so nice,” Harris said.

The members also feel revived giving back.

“I feel at peace knowing I’ve made someone’s day better knowing that they can go to a local park and not see garbage,” Koehl said.

There is also the relationship built in Rotary that makes it worthwhile.

“For me, it’s like a team,” Harris said. “There are people you get to know and look forward to working with and you build a bond.”

Overall Rotary benefits everyone in the mix, whether you’re the parks manager or a club member that just gets to make a difference and help the community.
