Seniors have tons of expectations put on them, the amount of work and responsibility isn’t always a bad thing, and senior Joseph Brocks is an example of why this is.
Pushed by his coaches to be better, Brocks is always trying to improve.
“Coach Alford and Coach GambiI, feel like they lead me to do better and expect more from me,” Brocks said. “They do a lot for us; they make sure we’re ready and disciplined.”
Moving on from high school is certainly an achievement but it comes with its downsides.
“I feel good but at the same time I’m gonna miss it, just gonna be able to play with my friends for the last time,” Brocks said.
Of course seniors also need to think about their future, and Joseph is aware of this having two separate plans for the future.
“I’m planning to go to college for football,” he said. “Whoever offers me to play and if not that then I’ll go into the truck business.”
His father’s business and contributing to his family is yet another responsibility Joseph is ready to undertake one day, maybe joining in his father’s profession alongside him.
“My dad’s working on it so I might as well just build the business up as well, we get loads to bring ’em around town and get money, I’m definitely interested in that,” Joseph said.
His dad helps him in his life, being a person he feels he can come to when he has problems, though he likes to try and solve them on his own if he can
“I probably ask my dad or try to overcome it on my own,” Joseph said.
His optimistic attitude is reflected in how he deals with stress, facing challenges head on and accepting what he needs to do to be successful in life.
“Sometimes I can be a negative person, but I try to be positive most of the time,” Joseph said.
