Rowlett holds creators of all kinds throughout its walls with few given the chance to be seen and showcase their work to the masses, these few didn’t need any chances as they made their own way. These are some of the faces behind the media and their stories.
Gabrielas journey hasnt been all smooth sailing however with her biggest obstacle being herself. Between ADHD, her own self doubts and her work being used and unrecognized it took a while for Gabriela to settle into her own rhythm. Now more experienced the young photographer provides some advice for those who may face similar dilemas, Branch out and be available, also be accepting of criticism and realize your biggest critic is yourself. Gabrielas expressed a desire to continue improving stating she wishes to be more intentional and observant. Its easy to get a photo of someone just standing there we can all do that , thats not special but paying close attention and playing the game out in your head to get an idea of what will happen thats what I wanna do, she said.

Sophomore Gabriel Pina took a liking to film making a year ago and within that year he turned a passing thought into a passion with hopes to turn it into a full fledged career. “I found an interest in film making, I just picked up a camera and I started playing around with it,” Gabriel said. “I’m like this is really dope and just kinda became a passion; follow your passion , if it’s something you like to do no matter how little resources you have to try to make the best of it.” Taken by @filmedbyluminance on Instagram and Youtube
