The Varsity Cheer team shines in Rowlett Winter Parade, showcasing school spirit and community involvement.
The team decorated a tree on Main Street, featuring personalized ornaments with each cheerleader’s face.
“We put Varsity Cheer, but it was definitely for the whole organization as a whole, just to bring everything together and show what we do,” senior Madelyn Gigon said.
Gigon explained how the cheerleaders were able to get a spot downtown to decorate.
“I am on the youth City Council Board,” Gigon said. “So talking to the people there really helped me learn to sign up.”
Despite some challenges, the team focused on having fun and working together.
“We just had fun decorating it and making it special,” Gigon said. “We had to have solar lights, and it was really hard to find ones that would actually work.”
The tree represented unity and pride, reflecting the team’s growth and connection.
“I feel like this year we’ve definitely connected as a team, and having something to really represent us was really special and unique,” Gigon said.
