Two thousand names. One team. A simple message.
During the month of February, the school is busy with all kinds of events. One club in particular works overtime to ensure the student body is acknowledged and celebrated.
The Student Council organization hosted their annual Valentine’s Work
day on Friday, February 6. Students stayed after school from 3-5 p.m. to help.
“We love the school. We love the people in them, and we want to show some love,” Student Council Officer Amillion Soriano said.
This being one of their biggest projects of the year, the organization needed

all the help it could get and opened the volunteer opportunity to all students, including National Honor Society Members.
“It was super fun,” junior Zoe Munoz said. “I was able to express myself creatively, and it was fun knowing that someone’s name is there and they’re able to pick it up.”
Students were divided into groups and they sought out different designs together. Various ones included fruits, flowers, aquariums, and such.
“We thought the envelope [display] was super cute. No one else had done the design,” senior Sarah Marquez said. “My favorite design was the Snoopy picture.”
Students saw the hearts’ contribution to school spirit.
“Having spirit in our school unites us because everyone is different,” Marquez said. “Everyone’s in different sports, extracurriculars, and grades, but school spirit unites us into one. WeROne.”
Students also recognized the importance of the hearts to individuals.
“Whenever people don’t feel loved outside of school, at least they’re loved inside school,” sophomore Olivia Phillips said.
With one simple social, Lett StuCo united the school.
“We get to bring people together by putting hearts around the school,” Soriano said.
