Homecoming was different than any other year, even with the changes students still had a lot of fun.

Unlike any other year, due to COVID the celebration was held outside with last minute dress code changes allowing shorts because of the heat and limiting types of shoes to not damage the turf. Stepping away from a traditional dance brought

“I liked it better, but at the same time it felt different,” sophomore Bamidele Aina said. “All these years, we’ve been doing it inside, and all of the sudden we’re outside. I enjoyed it.”

Students were able to have fun together, dance and play games. For a lot of students it was their first school dance, in recent years at least.

“It was my last one; I didn’t want to miss it,” senior Jacob Martin said. “For the freshman it was their first; for sophomores and juniors, and probably for their friends. It was the first one outside. A lot of people didn’t get one last year.”

Homecoming bring students together for a fun evening in a secure and familiar environment with an exciting vibe.

“I think Homecoming is such a big deal because it’s one of the few times when so many students come together and hang out,” junior Adam Koehl said. “It’s a safe and guaranteed place.”
